RESIDENTIAL

Clients Wishes

Concept was to rebuild a new build autonomous house, in the heart of a 17th century village. The client's wishes was to buil a retreat for the whole family to enjoy, sometimes individually or sometimes all together.

Architecture of diplomacy (Cultural Integration)

From the outside; the scale, the shape, colours and textures, references the local vernacular. This in the form of an embracing wall that wraps around the north side of the building.

This embracing masonry structure supports an internal timber frame, following time honoured traditional french farming techniques.
